For over three decades, the Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) has been a premier platform for recognizing the country’s most promising young minds in statistics. This year marks the 29th edition of the PSQ, a nationwide competition that challenges first-time, first-year college students from all 18 regions of the Philippines to showcase their statistical knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Jointly organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the central government authority on official statistics and the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. (PSAI), the PSQ continues its mission of promoting statistical literacy and evidence-based decision-making. Since its inception in 1992, the PSQ has grown into a respected tradition, thanks to the visionary efforts of Tomas P. Africa, former NSO Administrator, and the enduring collaboration between PSA and PSAI. Despite a few pauses over the years, including the K12 transition and the global pandemic, the PSQ has consistently returned, stronger than ever, to inspire the next generation of statisticians.

The objectives of the PSQ go beyond simply testing knowledge. It seeks to:

  • Evaluate the competency and skills of students in statistics as taught in secondary education;
  • Promote awareness and appreciation of the importance of science and statistics among students; and
  • Foster public understanding of statistics’ role in development planning and support for government statistical initiatives.

PSAHelpline.ph is proud to stand alongside PSAI in upholding these ideals. As a long-time sponsor of the PSQ, we are committed to nurturing the growth of young statistical talents and celebrating their achievements. The quiz not only identifies future statisticians but also highlights the relevance of data in making informed decisions, both in the public and private sectors.

This year, participants will tackle questions spanning Counting Methods, Descriptive Statistics, Probability, Distributions, Estimation, Hypothesis Testing, Sampling Techniques, Correlation, Regression, Expectation, and the Application of Official Statistics. The stakes are high: regional champions will receive plaques, medals, and certificates, while the top five national finalists will also be recognized with prestigious awards. The Regional Finals was held last November 6, 2025, while the National Finals will take place on December 4, 2025.

Just as the PSQ builds statistical skills for the future, PSAHelpline.ph ensures convenience, accuracy, and security for the present.
